Roof Restoration in Sydney

1. GUTTER CLEANING:

Reliable Restorations - gutter cleaning

Gutter cleaning should be a part of regular maintenance on your home. You should clean your gutters at least every 12 months.

Many of the problems that lead to leaks are caused by leaves, moss and dirt blocking up your gutters and valleys, which prevents the water flowing freely down the gutters and downpipes. Not cleaning them out regularly will reduce the life of your gutters, by creating rust spots that lead to larger holes.  In order to avoid a roof repair, ensure that your gutters are kept clean and tidy!

Broken Tiles

2. REPAIR & REPLACE:

Replace all broken tiles to ensure no leaks through the tiled area. All stink pipes and flashing will be repaired or replaced.

High Pressure Cleaning

3. PRESSURE WASHING:

Is your roof dirty? Let us clean it for you. Using our high pressure machine that pumps water at 3,650psi, we will wash and rinse down your roof and flush out your gutters. We'll get rid of all the dirt, moss and lichen off your roof. We will also hose down the outside of your house including your gutters, fascias, windows, paths, plants and other surrounding areas.

Rebedding Ridge Capping

4. REBEDDING:

Re-bedding is the process of reapplying cement under the ridge capping. A bedding frame is used to help keep the caps aligned and level. This helps to hold the caps down. It is a common misconception that all roof restorations require re-bedding, in most cases that is not true as removing all cement can cause the breakage of tiles and ridge caps, which in turn can be costly. In most cases re-bedding the loose ridge caps is all that’s required, as repointing with a flexible pointing material secures the ridge caps extremely well.

Repointing Ridge Capping

5. REPOINTING:

Over time, roof pointing will crack, become weak and fall out. Pointing seals your ridge caps and stops water from leaking into your roof space. Sand and cement is no longer used for pointing as it breaks down to fast. The best material to use is a flexible pointing mortar, which comes in many colours to match your existing roof. The flexible pointing mortar is applied between 3-5mm thick and is used to seal the ridge cap, resulting in a strong adhesive bond to the tile. It is particularly good in flexibility when your roof expands and contracts due to heat.

Whirly Bird

6. SPIN VENTILATOR / WHIRLY BIRD:

Need some cool air in your roof space? We can install a spin ventilator in your roof. Spin ventilators are effective all year round, removing hot and moisture-laden air from your roof cavities and replacing it with fresh air.

Mould Treatment

7. MOULD TREATMENT:

A coat of Prep Treatment is applied on all tiles and ridge capping to ensure any mould and moss spores are destroyed prior to the application of the coating.

Primer

8. PRIMER:

The entire roof area is coated with an acrylic primer. This fills up the porous holes in the tiles providing strong adhesion.
